Front cylinder and drive rods of a 2-10-0 Compound Tank Engine. This old engine sits on tracks north of the station at Pocinho, Portugal. As one can see in this photograph, the front cylinder powered the first two drive wheels on each side of the locomotive; the second powered the remaining three. Photograph and text by George P.
