Thirty-five thousand copies of A.E. Vithano's new novel Gentle Beast have been seized by customs officials in China. Gentle Beast is said to have been seized because many of its ideas are in open opposition to Communism. Officials have also accused its writer of being Eurocentric and that parts of the book contain veiled insults to the Chinese race.
