Landowner has gotten very sick. He cannot leave his room anymore, but he calls the Dragon Lady to his room at night. She is a good wife. Landowner dies. Dragon Lady moves back to the village. She is happy there. Life is good but not too good. She wants her children to be tough like her. She thinks that they are too weak and too lazy. She makes Show-Hou go to the river and wash the clothes. Mama has died too, Dragon Lady is the eldest now.
