Since the aim of this project is to transpose a number of articles, quotations and books on feminist theory into the potentially highly hypertextual environment of StorySpace, it is crucial to acknowledge how these traditional printed texts get remediated and how this has its consequences, both in developing relevant critiques and in filtering out the feminist possibilities of this particular technology. This project therefore takes on board a notion of a technology as posed by Bolter and Grusin in Remediation. Understanding New Media, not as a mere piece of hardware, but as a whole of techniques, socio-cultural practices and ideologies in which that technology is embedded. A technology therefore is also necessarily always in dialogue with other media in a society.
