A Complex Statue

"Good heavens," Sir Thomas declared, "this is absolutely scandalous! Who would put such a thing in a public place? Children might see it!"

Madame Vereaux smiled, ever-so-slightly snidely, and asserted, "Well, it's daring, certainly, but hardly so alarming as all that. It reminds me of a Grecian work I saw some time ago... and a story that I heard to match it. This tale is perhaps a touch risque for one such as yourself, Thomas, but the Bard has penned racier works; and more tragic ones, to be sure."

Before Sir Thomas could manage to compose an adequate response, Miss Sunnington (smiling, and with uncharacteristic boldness) begged, "Oh, let's hear it, Genevieve."
