Women's Channel

Sebastian Kearse '10, English 65, The Cyborg Self, Brown University (Fall 2006)

"This new century represents the revolution for all women in the world to stand up as a fellow member of society. In the past, women have been classified as the weaker sex, only good for basic sexual pleasures and reproduction. The world we know now slowly becomes more gender neutral, and equal opportunities arise everyday. As long as any sex identifies as a sex, there will never be any form of true unity. We as a race to be united as a race alone; I believe Donna J. Haraway sees it as a future of affinity. She also states affinity will remove the bind and limitations that come with any type of identity. A cyborg can live outside of gender, so why not the rest of the world. The human race will soon connect like a network, and a kinship will be formed."
