How does one go about making a hypertext fiction
, links are used to disorient the viewer. I prefer an approach similar to that one might use if writing non-fiction. Non-fiction hypertext writing seeks to give the reader as much information about the topic as possible, instead of withholding information
and purposely confusing the reader. A good nonfiction example is Growing up Digerate
. Still using hypertext as a means of allowing the user to pick what information to examine assumes that the reader cares
about the information in the first case, which is not always true, especially in fiction writing. I feel that when reading nonfiction the reader assumes that they will be gaining knowledge. Alternatively while reading fiction the reader assumes they will be entertained.
