Translation is a schizophrenic exercise: the transfer of signifieds from one language to another requires a splitting of the Self. Artaud, our favourite schizo, often translated foreign authors; perhaps even enjoying the play of signifers (collapsed signifieds) from one language to another, blurring, proliferating, disseminating fixed meaning, as Derrida does in his analysis of The Phaedrus.
