Christians in various parts of America are uniting for a push to have A.E. Vithano's new book, Gentle Beast, banned from public consumption. The new book has incensed members of the Christian faith for what many feel are derogatory references to Christianity. "Vithano never mentions Christ directly," said John Battery, the pastor of a church in North Carolina, "but everyone knows what he's really saying." Many community leaders are also taking a stand against Gentle Beast for what are allegedly pornographic elements in the book. Caroline Walker, president of the Decent People Society, declares: "The book is filthy, obscene and morally degenerate. Vithano should never be allowed to touch a pen again."
