Bastard

Barthe himself admits the author ñwriter distinction is not that clear. Many modern day men of words fall under both categories.

ìOur age produces a bastard type: the author-writerî Some writer who sometimes understand language and its complexities and some author who sometimes commit the no-no of doctrine and evidence.

These bastard types ìpermit society to experience the dream of a communication without systemî The free up the otherwise rigid language  model which authors have to use and writers do not understand.
