Hypertext

To illustrate, let us consider my treatment of this storyspace project.Ý Storyspace enables the reader to navigate through the text at will, skipping through the pages with ease.Ý Links enable the author to bring an entire host of information to the reader in support of his argument at the click of the mouse.Ý The power of the reader to navigate through the text is greatly enhanced.Ý As such, the reader as a "producer" of the text can be seen through that authority.

For instance, should a reader choose to focus only on the poems of Wilfred Owen and ignore the arguments that i have raised, this project becomes merely a source of war poetry to that reader.Ý However, if the reader should bring into this project an interest in the arguments that i have raised, the project then becomes more than merely a source but rather a point of interest whereby the reader, by bringing in his own unique perspective in reading the project would then contribute to it.Ý He may then attach meanings to my arguments that i may not have intended, but it doesn't matter!Ý That the text is fluid and added onto based on the experience of the reader then creates a writerly text for all to experience.Ý This argument is easily applied to the print text as well.

To link to Barthes argument, we can then see how the conception of the classical text is changed.Ý To put it simply, the classical conception of the author is rendered invalid as the reader too participates in the definition of the text.
