With hypertext, we can integrate lesser-known authors (read women and minorities) into the privileged canon with the advantage that the additions will be truly integrated and not merely "add ons" like the "Women's Studies" diversion in too many curriculums. (Landow p.159).

We can put writing by or about women right next to the existing literature so as to undermine the separateness and inequality of women's issues. So works by women and minority authors will be valued for their intellectual content and their connections to other works of literature, rather than for the fact that they are authored by representatives of a dominated group.
