i heard it too when he stopped dead in his tracks that morning. yeah, i get up early sometimes. helps clear my thoughts for the day. guardians have these sorts of rituals.

i'm not sure how he felt - except that he stood there motionless, listening for a full sixty seconds.
and me?
disillusionment.. right? i think i'm using that word correctly. i'm not sure what it was in that sound... but it destroyed every comic book crush i've ever had, laid waste to my romantic ideologies, made me want to stay home from the ballots next election.

and frankly, i had forgotten that objects, people, actions exist outside of The Room. the wall gets so comfortable sometimes.
