Combinatorial Writing

Hypertext is well-suited to combinatorial writing., to weaving different characters and plots and scenes in and out of each other. For example, authors can show their cleverness by assembling stories with seven characters interacting in seven different plot lines, with a diffferent outcome for each of the seven days of the week. Just about any two concepts can be hitched together with hypertext links -- I have seen Ska music glued to literature, and eating disorders patched to reading, for example.
