But my writing, if I can call it that, was never really "good writing" at all. Instead, it was thoughts on paper, the equivalent of the live feed from a cable plugged directly into my cerebrum (with punctuation and noun-verb agreement). Having been this kind of writing, it lacked the design and structure that works to connect and convey multiple ideas in a compelling manner. It lacked the preconceived associations and allusions that often makes a work of literature complex. I was never a "writer", just a transcriber of thought (a fast typist with a decent handwriting, too).
