But these men were peaceful. They left me alone, and in return I cared for them. Providing them with food and shelter. But one day, a different sort of men arrived on my shores. They brought war and famine with them. They no longer cared about me, cutting down the trees that were my lifeline to the life of air. They began to cover me up to try to suffocate me. I have been dying a slow death ever since.
