No matter what happens, R knows that she and L will always be together. They fight all the time, the same, stupid fights, but she knows that neither of them has the strength or the energy to make a clean break. It doesn't seem to matter that much. "Maybe," she thinks "L will leave me when I'm forty for some twenty year old." This thought rouses neither relief or regret from her, but rather some strange combination of the two. L and R are both as happy as they know how to be.
