What video games advertise above all is the ability to do something without leaving the confines of the living room, whether it be Nascar racing, saving the human race, or playing pro football. The user is always playing an active role in crafting the story. The story only exists because the player is working, the player essentially keeps the story alive. Therefore it can be frustrating to feel that one has no change over the outcome of the story. This is especially annoying in a story based game where the richness of the interactivity relies mostly on the player's control over the story. These story based games are known as RPGs.
