Is the womb the opening lexia created for hypertextual reproduction? Or can hypertext itself provide a program against reproduction, one that suggests life starts in the middle of something that already exists and that this life is nothing more than its network-potential? Would a life, caught up in the evolution of its hypertextual consciousness, be measured by the number of links it was able to create/attract during its existence? Sheer quantity of links? Or, rather, quality of the links themselves no matter what the actual number? Life in The Value-Added Network suggests that quality is quantity. Multi-linearity is altered-linearity. Metarealism is realism. Is is the link we ought not to worry about even as we acknowledge the fact that it may be the always already Missing Link.
