Reading and Sleep


The third element is the link between reading and sleep, of which ludic readers are keenly aware, and which many exploit by making reading the day's last waking activity. In other words, the passivity of the reader's experience, which so closely resembles the passivity of the hypnagogic state, may literally bridge reading and sleep by inducing a sleep-related state.
