The Value of Utility

While density can be a helpful criterion in determining a specific informational object's "value", a more practical method of evaluation is to consider an object's usefulness. There's a lot of information on the Net, and a lot of it, while detailed, is crap. Those objects that are most frequently used can be said to be most valuable (i.e., more people will be affected is Lycos were to go down than if my home page were to).
