Hypertext and the Imagination

This is where the fun begins, really.

Imaging.

We all do it, to some extent at least. Personally, I don't image so much. It slows me down, and it's not important to me how characters look. It's how I see them in my head that is important, and I'm not talking physical attributes. It's how I see their personality. It's a very unique thing, I can't even explain it.

So what about hypertext and imaging?

How will the use of actual images in hypertext effect the reader's ability (inability?) to image? Will images be an obstacle or an aid?
Stay tuned...
